Isn’t there an option to talk to an LLM and have it talk back to you? Could you use that to simulate a ”lying on a couch, talking to a therapist” kind of thing? Just wondering if spoken discussion might be more powerful for that kind of stuff instead of written.

But I guess if that’s true very much depends and it would probably also be pretty taxing having to speak yourself clearly enough for the LLM to parse it?

Anyway! Just an idea that popped into my head. Btw. thanks for sharing the graph on the environmental impact. That’s does help my conscience quite a bit.

Yeah some people like using ChatGPT's Voice Mode that way (e.g. this guy, though he's doing business brainstorming rather than therapy: https://youtu.be/yEvgHp9brs0?si=hAQ8mnETkjgi6_g7&t=846 ). Claude doesn't offer a voice mode though.

I've heard people mention that one issue with current voice modes is that the LLM tends to interrupt you if you pause to reflect on your thoughts. That sounds a bit annoying in a therapy-type context, which is exactly the kind of thing where you might want to take your time sinking into your felt senses and take your time replying.
